En Pere Planells i Bonet, va néixer a la ciutat d'Eivissa, el 2 de febrer de 1950, es va llicenciar en Belles Arts per la Universitat de Barcelona. Fou ajudant de l'artista nord-americà, membre del moviment abstracte de NY, Conrad Marca-Relli. També va estudiar Cinema a l'Escola de Cinema Independent de Barcelona (Eixalà). Com a conseqüència d'aquests estudis va co-dirigir el documental Amen Romaní 1/1970 / Amen Romaní 2/1970, amb Francesc Juan en plena efervescència del cinema underground català i, posteriorment, va aplicar aquests coneixements al camp de la pedagogia en un projecte de cinema a les aules. De fet, el seu primer treball va ser de professor de cinema a l'Institut Pau Vila de Sabadell. L’any 1976 fou Codirector executiu del Museu d'Art Contemporani d'Eivissa, amb Rafel Tur Costa i Leopoldo Irriguible. Ha estat Professor de dibuix i Catedràtic Numerari de Dibuix a diversos instituts i, els últims anys de docència els ha exercit a l'Institut Els Tres Turons d'Arenys de Mar. Doctor en Belles Arts per la Universitat de Barcelona amb la tesi: Aportacions teòriques i pràctiques sobre la polivalència, el desenvolupament i la ubicació modular. A conseqüència de l'estudi de les formes modulars va fer incursions en el camp de l'escultura, com per exemple La rosa dels vents, realitzada a Palafrugell i situada a Tamariu. El 2018 comensa a treballar sobre formes de l'espai i a realitzar projectes escultòrics a més de desenvolupar la seva obra pictòrica.

En 2018 empieza a trabajar sobre formas del espacio y realizar proyectos escultóricos además de desarrollar su obra pictórica.
 
Pere Planells i Bonet, il est né dans la ville d'Ibiza, le 2 février 1950, il est diplômé en beaux-arts de l'Université de Barcelone. Il était l'assistant de l'artiste américain Conrad Marca-Relli. Il a également étudié le cinéma à l'École de cinéma indépendante de Barcelone (Eixalà). A la suite de ces études a été co-réalisé le documentaire Amen Romani 1/1970 / Amen Romani 2/1970, avec Francesc Juan le film catalan underground en plein essor et a ensuite appliqué cette connaissance à un chemin de l'éducation En effet, son premier travail a été celui de professeur de cinéma à l'Institut Pau Vila de Sabadell. En 1976, il était co-directeur exécutif du Musée d'Art Contemporain d'Ibiza, avec Rafel Tur Costa et Leopoldo Irriguible. Il a été professeur de dessin et professeur titulaire de dessi n à divers instituts et, surtout, à l'Institut Tres Els Turons à Arenys de Mar. Docteur en beaux-arts de l'Université de Barcelone avec la thèse: Contributions théoriques et pratiques sur la polyvalence, le développement et la modularité. À la suite de l'étude des formes modulaires, il a fait des raids dans le domaine de la sculpture, comme La rosa dels vents, fabriqué à Palafrugell et situé à Tamariu. Als Ergebnis dieser Studien leitete er den Dokumentarfilm Amen Romani 1/1970 / Amen Romaní 2/1970 mit Francesc Juan in vollem Gange des katalanischen Untergrundkinos und wandte dieses Wissen anschließend in einem pädagogischen Bereich auf Kinoprojekt in Klassenzimmern, in der Tat war seine erste Arbeit als Filmprofessor am Pau Vila Institut in Sabadell. 1976 war er Mitveranstalter des Museums für zeitgenössische Kunst auf Ibiza, zusammen mit Rafel Tur Costa und Leopoldo Irriguible.
